SAS Astronomy Picture(s) of the Month [December, 2023]
The All-Stars of Winter
Andromeda Galaxy, Orion Nebula and the Pleiades!
Congratulations to Didi for getting started doing DSO Astrophotography this fall using Dwarf II, a smart telescope! In her own words, she says “this <scope> is really good for beginners and very useful to get folks interested and excited about the night sky since it has tracking and go-to capabilities and can also do Lunar/solar photography (as well as daytime birding).” Apparently, the telescope allows you to see pictures stacked live before your very eyes on your own phone! She’s been practicing every chance she gets, learning from other members and users, and watching tutorials on editing. I think the work is paying off!
The images below are of M31 (Andromeda Galaxy), M42 (Orion Nebula), and M45 (Pleiades), all stacked and processed in Siril. (I have to admit, these are way better than my first images 🙂 )
